'Field' Olive trees, as suggested by their name, are prepared and harvested directly from the land where they have grown during their working life.
Preparation of the trees for transplantation involves careful trimming of crown and roots. This produces a compact tree with low water demand that requires minimum space for transportation. Thanks to this preparation, our Field Olive trees are very suitable, and inexpensive, to be transported long distances, either by road or even overseas in containers.
Transplantation in areas of 'Mediterranean Climate' is simple; the trees can be planted directly on arrival. They will quickly re-establish themselves and normally show vigorous growth within a short time.
In cooler areas, the trees should be acclimatised under nursery conditions to allow the root system and crown to recover before they are planted in their final location.
